Join us on this relatively easy and stunning nature hike, which will take us through the beautiful valley of Bjørndalen.

We will start our tour when your guide will pick you up at your accommodation. From here we will drive by minivan along the coastline passing Vestpynten towards Bjørndalen. Here we will leave our car behind and we will start our nature walk through the valley.

Bjørndalen is known for its rich flora and fauna and it is thé place near town to have a chance to spot Arctic wildlife such as the Arctic fox, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic birds during the summer.

Along the way your guide will tell you more about the beautiful flora and fauna and the rich history of Svalbard. We will make sure to have enough stops to take photos and to enjoy a warm expedition lunch and drinks.

When it is time to drive back to town, we will make sure to be on the lookout for belugas along the coastline and maybe even a walrus!

This tour will take approximately 5 hrs and is about 3-5km with 100m elevation (maximum).

What we recommend you to bring:

Please make sure to dress properly for Arctic weather conditions. 

Our recommendations for this hike would be to wear: Sturdy waterproof hiking boots/shoes (above the ankle), (soft shell) hiking pants, shell jacket (wind and waterproof), base layers, warm hiking socks, insulating mid-layer, warm hat (like a beanie), warm mittens/ gloves and a filled water bottle. If you can, choose woolen materials closest to your body.

We will provide you with snowshoes or microspikes (depending on the conditions).

Important to know:

If we need to adjust our planned route due to safety reasons, we hold the right to do so.

There is no reimbursement if we need to. 

We reserve the right to refuse you to join our activity, without any refund, if you do not arrive on time, are not properly prepared in terms of clothing or in any way not capable of joining our trip. Your safety is our main concern.

Make sure you are in normal physical shape. Although this hike is relatively easy hike it could be experienced as moderate demanding (all depending on conditions and weather). 

Although our activity is focussed on wildlife, their presence can never be guaranteed.

Pickup: at your accommodation around the time stated on your confirmation. Please just wait if we are not there on time. 

We pick up everyone at the same time, so we could be some minutes later.

Cancellations:

If you need to adjust your booking, let us know. If available, we gladly guide you on another day of your preference, only if we have availability and possibility to do so and only 3 days before or after the original date. However, if you need to cancel, please notify us in writing.

Cancellation reimbursement:

- 22 days or more prior to departure: 95%

- 21-8 days prior to departure: 50%

- 7 or less days prior to departure: 0%.

Refunds:

We are not able to offer a refund due to route changes, sickness, cancelled or delayed flights or any other circumstance outside our control. 

Age limits:

This experience is suitable for all ages. 

All under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
