ABOUT
This expedition is available on request for 3 people or more.
Join us in the Arctic summer for a dive into the wilderness of Svalbard! This hiking expedition will give you a great combination of wildlife, nature and amazing views. Walk with us through deep valleys, be constant on the lookout for wildlife and reach high peaks!
This expedition will push you further into the wilderness and gives you a true Arctic nature experience.
We will start our adventure the evening before the expedition at our basecamp. Here we will have a dinner with our guide and the participants. A great way to prepare our trip, ask all questions, get a safety briefing, check equipment and mostly.. have an informal moment to get to know each other. The next day we will pick you up from your accommodation. You can leave your luggage at our basecamp for storage. Depending on the amount of days we go, the route either starts from Bjorndalen or from Endalen. We will drive towards the starting point.
The valleys are known for its rich flora and fauna and many wildlife sightings.
Be on the lookout for the Arctic Fox, Svalbard Reindeer and many birds who are nesting on the mountains during summer.
We will need to cross rivers and walk up mountains, making our way towards Grumant.
Reaching the summit will give us an amazing view over the Isjord.
Look as far as your eyes can see and enjoy the sight of the glaciers across the fjord. Here we will take a moment of true Arctic silence!
After reaching the summit we will explore the old Soviet mining settlement - Grumantbyen.
On the 2 days trip we will walk back and forth the same route. On the 3 or 4 days expedition we will take different routes.
