This snowmobile expedition is for those who seek adventure, who dream of adventure and who want to create unbeatable memories.
Those who want to visit unique places where no one goes and look to emerge deep into the Arctic wilderness, experiencing a true Polar expedition in the Northernmost part of the world.
Yes? Let’s go!….
It is not an issue if you do not have previous snowmobile experience. We will give clear instructions and we will start easy to get you into the flow!
You can either drive your own snowmobile or if you book with more than 1 person, share one (it is possible to swap along the way).
Let’ s start with some comfort..
The evening before our expedition, we invite you in our basecamp where we will host you a culinary dinner. During this moment you will meet our team, have a briefing about our upcoming expedition and give you a safety instruction whilst we prepare our gear for the day after. Take a good night rest in your hotel as the upcoming days will be packed with adventure!
Expedition day is there…
Yes, still a bit of comfort as we will transfer you from your hotel to our basecamp. We will dress up in our snowmobile suits, which will all be provided to you and then we are good to go!
During our first part of driving, you can get familiar with your snowmobile and we will still be a bit driving in “ day tour “ area. :-)….It won’t take long though, before we say goodbye to all other tourists we meet in the valley’s and take a turn towards the more remote areas. Large valleys, crossing glaciers and amazing landscapes will be the highlights of this day. Our first overnight stop will be at Brucebyen, where we will set up our wilderness camp. Enjoy the view of a massive glacier whilst our guide/chef de la expedition prepares you a warm and welcoming expedition dinner. Ok, it is expedition food, but we promise it tastes fantastic! A good night sleep in our warm tents and sleeping bags will prepare us for our next expedition morning. Did we mention you need to join the Polar bear watch at night to make sure everyone is safe?!
Starting to feel as an explorer…
Let’s start our morning with melting snow to make a descent coffee or tea. Is there a better way to start your day, warm coffee in front of a glacier enjoying pure Arctic nature? We pack up camp and will make our way to some unique places. Crossing the hard frozen sea ice, will bring us on the other side of the Billefjord, making our way along Dicksonfjord, passing by a huge 40 meter high frozen waterfall, a perfect location for a short stop. When it is time to continue our journey we will make our way all the way up to Svenskhuset, historically known as the haunted house! Your guide will tell you all about this interesting and at the same time sad story, where seventeen Arctic explorers passed away during their overwintering. A very impressive place to visit, which will spook in your mind forever…..
Enjoy a good night sleep tonight :-) whoeoeoeoeo….
Getting comfortable with the Arctic….
Already into our third day of exploring the remote Arctic, you will probably be more used by now to all the endurements of being a Polar adventurer. Have we mentioned wildlife already? On all our days we will keep our eyes open in case we spot wildlife. We will treat wildlife with respect and will not disturb them in any way, so we can enjoy the sight of Arctic wildlife in their natural habitat. Today we will make our way towards Petuniabukta, passing by the abandoned mining settlement of Pyramiden.
Petuniabukta will be our camp for this night, but not before we first explore an amazing ice cave at Horbyebreen, with a huge glacier wall. Are you up for some ice cave climbing?!
Do I still feel my toes?… :-)
Today will be our final day of our snowmobile expedition. As comfortable as we are right now, being out there in the wilderness, growing a beard, no showering, wilderness peeing, we have to call this our final day. But we will make the absolute most out of it!
We will guide you for the last day, taking amazing routes, beautiful views and capture all scenery around us! At the end of the day we will arrive back in civilization with a ton of memories and great heroic stories to tell! After a very welcoming shower we will end our expedition together with a dinner at one of the great restaurants in town. Back in phone signal so time to share photos with all your loved ones!
