WHAT TO EXPECT
11 JUNE
Our crew will pick you up in town and drive you to our sailing vessel, which is waiting at the floating pier.
We embark the Dutch sailing vessel Meander, which will be your home for the next 5 days! After the safety instructions and introducing the guides and skipper, we sail out for our first day. Ready for adventure?
Let's go
Make sure you have your binoculars ready as the Isfjord is known to be the feeding area for many different whales! Some first highlights will be seen that day before we go for anchor.
Enjoy the view on one of the decks, get in the sauna or have some drinks inside!

day 2-5
Our next 4 days on board will be a true Arctic expedition. We sail along the coast line of the Archipelago in search of wildlife, glaciers, historical places and adventure! Every day we will go out with the zodiac. We explore the area both on land and on the waters. Some stunning hikes, amazing views at the glaciers and impressive nature and wildlife will be our daily occupation. In the evening there is time for some heroic stories to share, our guides will address interesting lectures and the skipper might have a story or two to tell...
As it is 24 hrs daylight, you are so lucky to have all day and night to explore the presence of the King of the Arctic..

Maybe some Beluga's will sing next to the boat at night for some good night dreams.

Our most cozy spot on board is the great seating and dining area. Protected from the sun. Furthermore, the front and tween deck provide additional seating.
There is air conditioning on the ship and when it is cold, there is a good central heating. A small sauna is available for enthusiasts.
In the deckhouse there is also a cozy salon with a separate kitchen and a view over the surroundings. A beer tap and central cooling with soft drinks and wines are available. Below deck you will find the comfortable double cabins with own sink. There are two separate showers and three separate toilets to be shared for 4 cabins.
During your stay on board, you will be served a full board, including tea/coffee/water. Our guides and skipper will take care of you!

After the 'Captains dinner' the night before, this is the day our journey sailing the Arctic waters will end. We say goodbye to the crew the end of the morning and will be welcomed by our guide in the harbor. We will bring you towards your accommodation and in the afternoon there is a possibility to join us for a hike through the beautiful valley of Bjorndalen. This valley is known for its rich flora and fauna and many wildlife sightings such as the Svalbard reindeer and the Arctic fox. We will drive along the beautiful coastline and will enjoy a warm lunch whilst being on the lookout for belugas.

Our vessel has all equipment you could wish for. Even a sauna on board for a relaxing moment! We have 6x double cabin with berth beds. Travel alone? No worries, let us know! After booking you will receive an information sheet with all necessary information to prepare your Arctic adventure. Your personal host is there for you to answer all questions!
